Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, bringing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Locals witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units deployed to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also faced energy failures after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled 598 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
